A super concentrated 100% organic plant-based body butter to nourish and protect your skin
I love love love the product but I am really sad that the company is now using plastic jars.
The warm vanilla butter makes my skin feel smooth and moisturized. I love the warm relaxing scent
I felt lavish! A little goes a long way.
i'm not much for reviewing-- though i have left a 5 star for OB before. Unfortunately, this is not one of those. TLDR I ordered 4 jars of body butter, 2 arrived shattered. i reached out same day as delivery and 2 months+ later I've still not received the replacement or a refund.
This was my first time trying the warm vanilla body butter and it did not disappoint. First, let’s talk about the smell. It smells like pure vanilla to me. Like if you were to smell vanilla extract (minus the alcohol scent) it smells very similar. Another thing I can compare the smell to is Costco vanilla ice cream. The smell is a pure vanilla with a milky tone. Even though it may seem like it could be a subtle or a simple smell, it really does last a long time. I used it after a hot bath, and I smelled of vanilla all night long and into the next morning. Your skin really smells of vanilla for a while. That surprised me. I imagined it would go away pretty fast given it was a more natural fragrance. Also, even though it is organic and natural, it doesn’t have any off scents or other oil smells that sometimes come from natural products. Second, the texture. The texture is thick, but melts quickly as you rub it on your hands. Now I’ve only ever tried The Body Shop butters, so to compare, I would say that this body butter is a bit more sticky than The Body Shop body butters. It definitely takes more time to absorb into the skin. And you can feel it on you for a few hours after. However, considering that this body butter has simple and natural ingredients in comparison to The Body Shop, I’m okay with that. It feels good knowing that what I’m rubbing into my skin is whole and natural ingredients AND it’s smell lingers. After a few hours, the slight stickiness does go away and it leaves your skin feeling soft and hydrated. I would say that if smell is important to you, and knowing what ingredients you are putting on your skin, then this would be a good buy. If you dislike an oily or very slight sticky feel than you may not enjoy this. Also, I think this body butter would work best if you were to apply it after a hot bath or shower. That definitely helps it absorb into your skin more. However, this is stated right on the jar. I wouldn’t recommend applying if you haven’t had a hot bath or shower. So, if you are looking for an occasional treat for yourself, to use after a nice hot shower or bath, then I would highly recommend. As you can see in the first hand picture, this is a few seconds after putting a fingertip sized amount on my hand. It immediately melted. And the second hand picture is after I’ve rubbed it into my hands. There is a slight oily feel. Also, I would say this is a great price for the value. A little bit really does go a long way. I would say this body butter is more dense than The Body Shop and that you would get more uses out of it in comparison.
